Speaker's Summary of Presentation

Intel …US leading green corporation due to energy credits.

Solar Program Announcement
Intel Corporation today reported that new contracts are in place to incorporate approximately 2.5 megawatts worth of new solar power projects at eight U.S. locations in Arizona, California, New Mexico and Oregon. In addition, Intel announced it has renewed and increased by 10 percent its purchase commitments for renewable energy credits (REC) to more than 1.43 billion kilowatt hours -- more than 51 percent of its estimated 2010 U.S. electricity use.

A 100Kw system is funded and in project phase for NM site at this time for placement on the RR5 roof area the building we are in for this meeting. Presentation will consist of the NM installation details and overview of the other corporate sites. http://www.intel.com/pressroom/archive/releases/2010/20100125corp.htm

NMAEE COMMITTEE UPDATES
Note, the best way to become involved and enhance your membership experience is to serve as a committee chairmen or member. NMAEE has many opportunities to pursue if the manpower exists to support activities.

AWARDS COMMITTEE – Jack McGowan, Chairman, AEE Hall of Fame
Once again we plan to hold our Award banquet in September 2010. NMFMN has decided not to participate in our joint meeting this year. ASHRAE is still expected to participate. This meeting will be held in the evening at a location to still be determined. All members are encouraged to submit nominations for awards. Details will be sent to membership in May 2010.

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE – Susan Gregory, Chairman, NMAEE Past President
According to our bylaws this Committee should consist of past chapter officers of NMAEE, for they best understand the value and benefit of membership within the organization. I believe support can also be given to the Chairman by other members doing the occasional tasks to assure proper communication to existing and new members is maintained.

PROGRAMS COMMITTEE – Bob Galler, Chairman, NMAEE Vice President
According to our bylaws the Chapter Vice President (President-Elect) shall be the chairman of this committee. This is a difficult task to plan and organized speakers and facilities for the nine meeting held each year. This year we are attempting to change our format for meeting, to provide a less expensive box lunch and meeting at facilities that do not charge our organization. Many hands can be of assistance with this planning and preparation.

STUDENT CHAPTER COMMITTEE – Seeking Chairman
According to our bylaws, NMAEE should help establish and support a Student Chapter. I know UNM has engineering students interested in pursuing this goal. NMAEE should support this effort with manpower and funds to the extent possible.

WEB SITE COMMITTEE – Seeking Chairman
According to our bylaws, NMAEE should promote the goals and objectives of our organization to the public. Instead of a Publicity Committee, I believe the best current technology to create the desired publicity is through an informative up to date Web site. This is another tasks that requires more attention than can be given by the Chapter President (which has been the past tradition), so I am seeking members with knowledge and interest to assist in this area.

AEE CERTIFICATIONS COMMITTEE – Seeking Chairman
According to our bylaws, NMAEE should promote the goals and objectives of the Certified Energy Manager program. Instead as a result of AEE now providing over 15 different certification programs I recommend we change the committee title and allow focus on any applicable certifications.

PLEASE let us know what you would like to have as programs for our chapter, or volunteer potential contacts for future speakers.
