NMAEE 2008 Energy Awards

2007 Award Recipients

The Energy Awards Selection Committee is requesting nominations for the 2008 NMAEE Energy Awards. The awards are as follows:

ENERGY ENGINEER OF THE YEAR
Presented to an individual for outstanding accomplishments in promoting the practices, principles and procedures of energy engineering. The recipient must be a registered professional engineer.

CORPORATE ENERGY MANAGEMENT
Presented to a corporation, agency, or organization for outstanding accomplishments in developing, organizing, managing and implementing their corporate energy management program.

ENERGY PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Presented to an individual for outstanding accomplishments in training and development of energy engineers and managers.

ENERGY MANAGER OF THE YEAR
Presented to an individual for outstanding accomplishments in promoting the practices, principles of energy management and development.

ENERGY PROJECT OF THE YEAR
Recognizes an innovative energy management project that has been in operation for at least six months and can be substantiated with actual installation costs and operating savings.

RENEWABLE ENERGY PROJECT OF THE YEAR
Recognizes an innovative renewable energy project (and/or a project that has had significant impact on global warming) that has been in operation for at least six months and can be substantiated with actual installation, operating costs and achievements.

RENEWABLE ENERGY INNOVATOR OF THE YEAR
Presented to an individual for outstanding achievement and innovation in promoting the adoption of renewable and/or green energy technologies.

ENERGY CHAMPION
Presented for outstanding accomplishments in developing, organizing, managing, promotion and implementing their energy management program within a corporation, facilities, community or civic organization.

ENERGY EXECUTIVE
Presented for outstanding individual accomplishments in developing, organizing, managing and implementing their energy management program for a corporation, facilities, community or civic organization.

ENERGY LEADERSHIP
Presented for outstanding leadership related to accomplishments in developing, organizing, managing and implementing their corporate energy management program within a corporation, facilities, community or civic organization.

NMAEE Hall of Fame
Presented for outstanding career accomplishments in promoting the practices, principles of energy management and development, and for superior service to the Association.

Please provide the name of the nominee, the award category, along with a description of why the person deserves the award. Send the information to NMAEE, P.O. The deadline for submissions is July 21, 2008.

NEW MEXICO ASSOCIATION OF ENERGY ENGINEERS
SPRING 2007 SCHOLARSHIP
$1,000.00

Purpose: To encourage the study of energy technology, efficiency and renewable energy topics, for the future of the energy management profession in New Mexico and the region.

Eligible Studies: Scholarships are available to candidates who are enrolled in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, energy management, or energy technology related programs at accredited colleges, universities, and technical schools in New Mexico.

Eligibility rules

  • Must be a student in a NM university or technical college for the 2006-2007 academic year. Proof of enrollment is required.
  • Sophomore standing or above (college re-entry at junior level is acceptable).
  • All engineering or architecture disciplines, or a technical discipline with an emphasis on energy.
  • Does not necessarily have to be a NM resident.

Requirements for candidate submittals

  • Completed application
  • 2-page essay (between 500 & 750 words)
  • List of energy related topics can be provided
  • List sources for papers
