About the NMAEE

The New Mexico Chapter of the Association of Energy Engineers was made official with its by-laws in August 1989. But its roots go back to 1983, with some of the charter members holding periodic meetings to promote their common interests of energy conservation and the utilization of energy sources, including the environmental interface.

From Article III of the By-Laws:

  • The purpose of NMAEE is to promote the scientific and educational interests of those engaged in the energy industry, and to foster cooperative action in advancing the common purpose of its membership by promoting activities and holding meetings for the presentation and discussion of energy-related subjects.

  • NMAEE also aims to give due consideration to and to express its opinion on questions and matters affecting the energy industry and to cooperate with other organizations and government in carrying out its purpose.

  • Finally, NMAEE strives to promote the objectives of the National and International AEE organization, one way being its promotion of the AEE Awards program.
